What is the difference between an LPC and a PLPC?

An LPC, or Licensed Professional Counselor, is a fully licensed clinician who has fulfilled all state requirements and is authorized by the state Board of Counselors to practice independently.

On the other hand, a PLPC, or Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor, is a clinician who holds a provisional license and is in the process of accruing the necessary supervised hours to meet the state board's approval for full licensure.
