Karen has served as a Counselor and Case Manager at the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office Diversion Program in Gretna, LA. She has also worked in Mandeville, LA providing trauma therapy through EMDR and Lifespan Integration. During her earlier career, she worked with Montgomery County Adult and Juvenile Probation (Texas) as a supervision officer in which much of the time was spent in a “counselor-type” capacity.
Her passion is to meet clients “where they are” just as Jesus did with the woman at the well. He walked to Samaria, an area that no “no self-respecting Jew” would venture and struck up a conversation in the heat of the day. He told this lady of “ill repute” the truth of her life with compassion, not with a face drenched with contempt and judgment as she had experienced most of her life. We may tend to view ourselves that way, in anger and disdain, but that can be the fragmented memories at work, keeping truth in the darkness. This is not the life God wants for us and He offers peeling back the scarred layers, bringing them into the light and through the brain’s neuroplasticity healing.
Come as you are, not as you think you should be. Jesus Christ offers healing through His science. While navigating the traumatic and sometimes treacherous waters of life with waves crashing all around, He will never let go as he guides you through the storm. A nail-scarred hand of compassion and kindness is reaching out…whether it is at a well in the heat of the day or a trench filled with wounds that need healing. One of His tools is Wells of Life Counseling, LLC where His science and grace are embraced every day.
